Dr. Randi Raymond: The Use Of Psychedelics in Burnout Treatment

Updated: Nov 18, 2022

On this podcast, we haven't shied away from talking about the effect that trauma has on our ability to avoid burnout. In the first episode, with Ashley Rose, we spoke in depth about how trauma, even 'small' traumas have the ability to affect our behavior long term and those behaviors and the drivers behind them are what lead us to burnout. There is such a thing as Trauma Trained therapy - which can be a great solution for some people. Working with Ashley as a Transformational Coach can be amazing as well. There are times, however, that you've tried ALL THE THINGS and it just doesn't seem to be getting you where you want to go. Dr. Mark Hyman, well known in the alternative medicine sector for his work with diet and functional medicine and his best selling books, has been talking about working with psychedelics a few times this year. In this and this blog posts, Dr Hyman talks about the real science behind the use of psychedelics and why we should really give them a fair chance. This work isn't common in the US, but it probably should be. In this BONUS episode of FRIED, I got to chat with a dear friend, Dr. Randi Raymond who owns and runs The Burnout Recovery Center in Jaco, Costa Rica. Dr. Randi has been using plant medicine under the guide of shamans for some time now and recently started opening up the possibility to do plant medicine as part of a 5 day retreat.

This is something that fascinates me and the idea of doing it in a safe, nurturing, healing environment makes it that much more enticing. So, listen in and let either of us know if you have any questions :) Let the journeying begin!
